Aisha

Aisha, a Palestinian girl in Gaza City, longs for freedom and safety - without having to give up her cultural and religious identity to the Israeli-American aid worker that wishes to "save" her. Deep below the surface, in a smuggling tunnel, a new Underground Railroad, she dreams of another path, another way.

“Aisha” is a short piece of immersive audio storytelling intended as a tool for community engagement, organizing listening sessions and panel discussions to foster empathy and understanding. The piece aims to spark conversations and drive social change, using the power of art to address critical issues and promote peace.

Winner of the Independent Audio Fiction Award at the 2023 Tribeca Festival, 2024 Gold Signal Award Winner for Best Indie Podcast, Gold Winner for Human & Civil Rights Awareness at the 4th Annual Anthem Awards, and a 2024 Webby Award Nominee.

The piece was written and created before October 7th 2023, but unfortunately has even more salience now. It has been lauded for its innovative approach to immersive storytelling and its mission in raising awareness about Palestinian rights.

“Aisha” was written and mixed by Cory Choy, and sound designed by Feyishayo Aluko.
